A legendary beer deserves a legendary space. They asked for a Grand Café. We built one worthy of it.
The briefing
The phone rang in the spring of 2021 and the brief was clear from the first call. The Wasserman Benelux team invited us to be part of the 150th celebration of legendary Belgian brewery Duvel Moortgat. A custom Grand Café structure at the brewery in Puurs, Belgium — designed, built, and installed on a tight timeline where the devil snores. Duvel? Hell yeah!
Celebrate
The brief was to create a custom structure as the beating heart of a 3-day celebration at the Duvel Moortgat brewery in Puurs, Belgium. A central meeting point, a Grand Café, a landmark. The real challenge? Designing, engineering and installing it seamlessly within a working brewery — without missing a beat
Bring everyone together
Partners, customers, employees and plenty of beer lovers came together to raise a glass to 150 years of Duvel Moortgat. Under the Grand Café structure, the brewery transformed into a living celebration — fresh Duvels flowing, concerts pumping, memories made. The devil didn't snore much that weekend. He partied.
Try new things, meet new people, adopt new passions... and embrace change as much as possible.
How we solved the problem
With the brief approved and the concept locked, we moved into the engineering phase — designing an exclusive structure for a one-of-a-kind brand experience. The scale demanded more than standard solutions. To give this bold, custom construction the solid and safe foundation it deserved, we had to look beyond conventional methods and push into new territory
